Sturdy Socials and Design: Nailed in a Day
Client name: Eve Sturdy | Sturdy Socials and Design
Industry: Social media support and content design
Service: Nailed in a Day
Eve does social media, graphic design, and content creation for small business owners who need a hand bringing their big dream to life. With such a warm and magnetic personality, Eve was looking for a bit of help to reflect this in her own content. And that’s exactly what we did…in one day.
The struggles: what challenges was she facing?
Eve wanted to express more “her-ness” in how she shows up in her marketing
Frankly, she was ready to move away from being seen as a “hands for hire” freelancer, and towards being recognised as an expert who leads a specific type of client through a transformation.
“There are sooooooo many brands and self employed people who work in marketing and I didn't feel like I stood out in any way. Every time I tried I ended up sounding like someone else or not being authentic to myself and what I represent. I felt a bit lost amongst all the noise out there.”
What did she need?
Help defining her own personality, without getting stuck in her head
A suite of messages that felt authentic to her, and not like she was forcing a sale
A way of standing out that felt easy and intuitive
A hand finishing up her drafted web copy, so that she could get her new website up and running!
The process:
Step 1: Brand Deep Dive
This was a 2 hour call where we got into the weeds of what Eve does and how she does it. We pushed deeper into exploring the impact of her work, focusing on questions like:
So what? What difference does that actually make to your customer’s lives?
If they achieve that, what does that bring them, or allow them to do?
“I loved the form you sent beforehand. It really helped me figure out a lot of things ahead of our meeting and allowed me to go through the questions and prompts in my own time and space.”
Step 2: Sprint Day
We kicked off the day by revealing Eve’s new messaging and definition of fun (she loved them, btw). Then I cracked on with updating 6 of her web copy pages
So Lauren finished the day with:
Magnetic messaging that captures what her ideal client really wants
A clear definition of fun that represents Eve’s authentic personality
Kicked up a notch web copy
Step 3: 2 weeks of copy support
After we wrapped up the Sprint Day, Eve then had the chance to send me over up to 1,000 of copy she wanted me to kick up a notch, and bring in line with her new web copy
But this time, as I was editing her copy, I made a note of what I was doing, and broke this down into clear copy steps and tips for her to follow the next time she wrote copy for her brand.
Things like:
What structures to use
How to use language
What devices she can use to bring her unique definition of fun to life
Ooooh look, some web copy!
So what? What difference did it make to Eve?
Eve now has:
A suite of brand messages that are unique to her and her working style
Excitement about bringing these messages into the world, and seeing them rise above the noise
A brand personality and definition of fun that feels SO like her (and not something new she needs to learn)
Glittery copy ready to publish on her new website!
“I feel like you've got a giant highlighter out and picked out all the best bits in a lovely bright yellow!”
what did Eve think?
“THE BEST experience. It was like working with a friend, who just got me completely.”
Gina - you're a bloody superstar 🌟 Working with you has been a delight, a joy and a lot of fun.

Humans - if you need someone to help you remember you are in fact actually funny and you want to share that fun and humorous personality with the world...run, don't walk to Hoot Copy's website and book yourself a Disco call with Gina B.
