Lauren does MKTG: Nailed in a Day

Client name: Lauren | Lauren Does Mktg

Industry: Social media design

Service: Nailed in a Day

No big deal, but Lauren is a bit of an instagram BNOC. She helps female small business owners to create consistently hot AF content, and do more of what they love in their own marketing. What a legend.

To keep her business competitively positioned, Lauren knew she needed to harness even more of her gorgeous personality in her content. She had the visual vibes sorted, but needed the verbal vibes NAILED to bring it all together, and stand out as the obvious choice to her dream clients.

SAY LESS. WE CAN GET THE NAILED IN A DAY.

The struggles: what challenges was she facing?

Before we worked together, Lauren had recently pivoted her business, putting her in a more competitive space. So she wanted to make sure her offers were still standing out. She already had some brand messaging in place, but felt that it lacked cohesion and strategy.

  • She had always DIY-ed her copy

  • Everything felt like a Frankenstein's monster of business eras

  • Nothing ever felt completely right for her and her personality

But Lauren knew things were levelling up for her and her business. So it was time to call in the pros.

ME. I’M THE PRO.

What did she need?

  • An easy-to-use messaging suite that made it as simple as possible to create copy that spoke directly to her dream client

  • A brand personality that felt like the latest, truest version of her, and would set her apart from other businesses in her industry

  • A general spicing up of her web copy

A big part of Lauren’s brand is the party vibe she brings to her content. Right from the start of working together, she said she wanted more party references sprinkled throughout her content, but without taking things too far or making it feel like a party-themed business.

The process:

Step 1: Brand Deep Dive

This was a 2 hour call where we got into the weeds of what Lauren does and how she does it. We pushed deeper into exploring the impact of her work, focusing on questions like:

  • So what? What difference does that actually make to your customer’s lives?

  • If they achieve that, what does that bring them, or allow them to do?

“I loved how you didn't just ask a list of Qs, you listened to what I was saying & pulled things from everything”

Step 2: Sprint Day

We kicked off the day by revealing Lauren’s new messaging and definition of fun (she loved them, btw). Then I cracked on with updating 6 of her web copy pages

So Lauren finished the day with:

  • Magnetic messaging that captures what her ideal client really wants

  • A clear definition of fun that represents Lauren’s authentic personality

  • Kicked up a notch web copy

Step 3: 2 weeks of copy support

After we wrapped up the Sprint Day, Lauren then had the chance to send me over up to 1,000 of copy she wanted me to kick up a notch, and bring in line with her new web copy

But this time, as I was editing her copy, I made a note of what I was doing, and broke this down into clear copy steps and tips for her to follow the next time she wrote copy for her brand.

Things like:

  • What structures to use

  • How to use language

  • What devices she can use to bring her unique definition of fun to life

Ooooh look, some web copy!

So what? What difference did it make to Lauren?

After our Nailed in a Day session, Lauren now…

  • Knows exactly what to do to turn generic phrases into “on-brand” slogans

  • Feels excited to create new offers with her new messaging

  • Feels like everything finally makes sense in her brand

  • Can confidently and consistently stand out from her competitors

“You're a word wizard, it's an amazing talent, truly!”

what did Lauren think?

“Gina is an absolute delight to work with. I felt like she just got me. From our first call & in my head, I'd hired her after about 30 seconds on the disco call. My messaging had a theme already, but now it all loops together so beautifully & I'm so so excited to weave it into other areas of my business. Gina, ur the best, I love what you've created for me & I wanna be BFFs!”

Ready to nail your messaging, personality and web copy with someone who “just gets you”?

Let’s make it happen.
